    Beyond the Sliding Doors

I’ve been having a blast seeing Love for Auction do so well on the Amazon charts, but it’s time to start telling you all about my next book, due out soon:

Have you ever felt that your life is slipping away day by day and you long for something different, something exciting? Have you thought that you’ve been dealt a bad hand of cards, and they simply don’t suit you?

What if you could deal again? What if you could swap lives with someone else and have another go? Would you take it? Would you risk it for a second crack at happiness?

Gemma Tennant did, but she swaps lives with Alex Gambol, someone who is completely unaware of the possibilities. Gemma knows the risks she’s taken, but Alex is bemused, thrown into a life completely alien to her…but not completely unwelcome.

How will they cope? Will either find their dream life behind those sliding doors? Will they find love?

Of course, there’s an element of magic, but the story is set in contemporary England, where everything is almost the same…

They both have a new deck of cards in their hands. The question is, how will each woman play them.

  • New Release Day!

    New Release Day!

Yippee! It’s the release day for Love for Auction, my first shot at contemporary romance. It covers two of my favourite topics, age-gap and homecoming.

Love for Auction is up and running worldwide on Amazon and available in eBook, Kindle Unlimited, and paperback.

Right now, I’m on a flight bound for Miami for a Christmas cruise around the Caribbean. I love my cruises. So many interesting people to meet, and some who may crop up in my future books! Of course, I’m really looking forward to some sunbeams too after the past couple of rainy months in the UK.

To my readers, I’d like to say a huge thank you for all your support and encouragement. It really is appreciated.

I truly hope you’ll make a bid for Love for Auction and look forward to your reviews.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. And above all, have fun!

  • Romancing the Reviews

    Romancing the Reviews

Reviews: I’ve been banging on about these a bit, but they’re so important to every author. You see, you write your book, you love it, and after a lot of hard work, you put it out there. You hope your readers feel the same, but the only way you’ll know is if they leave a review. It’s also valuable information for others to see. It’s a fantastic way of connecting and a good review gives you a buzz. It’s a bit like buying that perfect Christmas gift for someone you care about…they open it and their happiness is overwhelming. Like a cuddly pooch, a review isn’t just for Christmas, it’s for life! So go on, give your favourite author their best Christmas gift ever!

On that note…Merry Christmas. And remember it’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice!

  • Love for Auction blurb and cover reveal!

Love for Auction blurb and cover reveal!

It’s that exciting time when my lovely cover designers over at Global Wordsmiths have given me my spanking new shiny cover for my latest book, Love for Auction. I admit I’m a little in love with it! I’ll be releasing Love for Auction on December 16th in eBook and paperback on Amazon, and there’ll be a special competition just for my lovely newsletter subscribers to win a copy and a little something special.

Love for Auction is an age-gap contemporary romance and here’s the blurb:

Philippa Young had it all as a flashy, sexy auctioneer with her own tv show auctioning off glamorous homes for the wealthy. But when the glitter fades, she relocates to the little village of Cauthwell to start over. Relationships are off the table, but she manages to find plenty of temporary company in her area. Until, that is, she takes on an auction for a very special client.

Kim Besson is lost. After her father dies she gives up her life in Manchester and heads to Cauthwell to sell the family home. With no family or friends, she has no idea what to do with the next stage of her life. When enigmatic, charming, older woman, Philippa, comes into her life, she starts to realise just what it is she might have been missing. But surely someone like Philippa wouldn’t be interested in a country girl like her…

When big city meets small town, home is what you find.

  • Reunited on foreign shores

    Reunited on foreign shores

A few weeks ago, I returned from Canada so I thought it might be nice to share some photos with you. We (my buddy, Christine and I) visited Ottawa then headed off to Winnipeg to see my sister and niece. We finished up in Toronto for a few days of chill time.

I hadn’t seen my sister and niece for eight years and before that visit, another eight.

This time was different: I realised how much I missed them. Maybe it’s because we’re all getting older. Maybe it’s because I’ve recently lost some friends and family and Mistress Time is reminding me that she’s a great healer but still stops for no one.

My sister, Jude, is seven years my senior. When I was ten, she was seventeen and living in London, training to be a nurse. We weren’t the greatest of friends during childhood, and when we did meet up,  we seemed to relive all the arguments and disagreements we’d had as kids. We tried but hardly ever got past that.

Jude did have her uses though. As teenagers, my friend and I headed off to London once a month, and Jude provided somewhere free to stay! During the day, we scoured Portobello Road for way out bargains and cruised Carnaby Street for fashion. At night we headed to the latest clubs and danced the night away. We were Mods in those days (for those of you who don’t remember, Mods were obsessed with style and attention to detail and were the polar opposite to our Rockers rivals with their scruffy dress and leather jackets!).

But too busy with having such great fun with my friend, I never spent much time with Jude.

I used to wish I could turn back the clock and make up for all those wasted years of petty squabbles. And on this trip, I’m happy to say that we managed to do exactly that.

Which just goes to show that it’s never too late!
